Aimed at those who think they might want to get into the yachting world, this course provides you with the knowledge you need, where you will leave armed with knowledge, course notes and the confidence to find a job and ask the relevant questions. This course is for stewards & stewardesses, deckhands and even chefs. • Yacht hierarchy • Yacht terminology • Radio communication (practical) • Where in the world? Familiarise yourself with where you may be working • Hours of work/rest and the seasons • Yacht builders • Living in the crew area • Safety at sea & sea sickness • Crew agencies • STCW • ENG1 • Food hygiene certificate and the next steps • How to prepare for an interview • How to speak to guests • Private vs. charter • Small test of your knowledge FREE and available online to complete in your own time, just sign up and you will be sent a link within 24hrs to access in your own time.

Cancellation Policy

When you book your place on the course, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other students. In order to be respectful of your fellow students, please email APL as soon as you know you will not be able to attend the course. Cancellations made 60 days or more in advance of the course date will receive a 96% refund(4%booking fee). Cancellations made within 30 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 72 hours will not receive a refund. To reschedule please contact us at least two weeks in advance of booking, if a replacement delegate is made then no cost incur will apply, transfers can only transfer once. For payment plans, the first payment reserves your place on the course, this is non refundable.
